Alumni Update: Montenegro

I am Edina Osmanovic from Montenegro. I consider myself a hardworking, diligent, optimistic, and reliable person with quite a unique set of skills that inspire, and I truly hope this article will inspire you as well.

Studying at Chatham University at Pittsburgh PA, on the Global UGRAD Program in 2019 significantly contributed to the development of particular skills as well as increased my individuality and dexterity. My experience in America has changed my life for the better in every way and made me braver, more agile, and more flexible. I was greatly influenced by extremely professional professors and mentors at Chatham University, along with my dear friend Meredith Spahic, a young artist who made my experience in America unforgettable.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurial Economics – Business Psychology and Management, while recently I have completed the last semester of my postgraduate studies at the University of Valladolid, Spain, through Erasmus+ Program.

Both of these international experiences have contributed to my full understanding of the beauty of diversity and to my constant work on improving cross-cultural skills and promoting multiculturalism.

After returning to my home country, I continued to educate myself in a variety of fields both national and international, and I continued being actively involved in social entrepreneurship, where I won several national competitions as an attempt to resolve community issues. I am currently working on establishing a new startup along with my team called Withmeglobal.com, which solves the problem of finding roommates around the world. My knowledge of five foreign languages falls into one of the categories of special skills, which greatly affected the enviable communication skills and helped me keep connected with young leaders and alumni worldwide.

I have worked in several foreign companies, and currently, I am in the position of Financial Manager, while also volunteering for the Government of Montenegro – Ministry of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media, where I help with the implementation of new projects related to digitalization and modernization of society.

I have always felt the need to do something important and vigorous for myself, my family, my friends, and my country. Studies in the States and Europe have helped me a lot to understand that people learn best from their own experience, and that is achieved by using and creating opportunities along the way.

We should constantly move, seek, learn, be part of the change, and be the change!

My goal has remained the same. I will strive to be a leader, a woman entrepreneur, a cultural ambassador, a person who motivates and inspires young people, and who helps improve our communities, our countries, and the whole world through innovation, creativity, and international connectivity.

I want to convey this globally, to encourage young people not to give up, and to be aware that everything is possible no matter where you come from and how difficult the obstacles might be.

Take these words of mine and believe that anything is possible, becauseĀ it is!

I did it, and you can do it too!
