Experience America: UGRAD Post

Dear UGRAD Post,

Today is my 4th day is US. It is really great to be an international student since you will make many new friends from almost all over the world. This picture shows when I was at the international student orientation session at the University of Utah, Utah. The orientation was awesome and I’ve already made many Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Latin American, and of course American friends.

I am getting to know many people from all over the world and greet them in person. Although I know that right now I am really far from my family and my country (Indonesia) being here in the U.S. I know I will soon have a new family, a new big family – UGRAD! And one more thing, something that I really love from the international orientation program was that there is a lot of free, really good food.

Dear UGRAD Post,

It has been a month since I have been here in the U.S.  and I have experienced lots of valuable things that I had not learned before all with help from professors, interns, and friends. I am finally adjusting to my new environment and every moment in Eau Claire seems like a fairy tale. I love the people and everything here on campus. However, this is just the beginning, and I still have a long way to go. My roommate for the summer program was a Japanese girl named Mizuho. She is really nice and helped me learn how to cook.  Chancellors Hall is my new dorm, where I now live with my new Chinese and two American roommates. Everyone is always up for helping me with whatever I need and it’s helping me easily adapt to the new environment here.
